๐จ Heads Up, Amazon Sellers! New Seal Requirement for Truckloads Starting This Week! ๐จ
Starting Date: September 12, 2024
Amazon is making a big change that affects how you ship full truckloads. Hereโs what you need to know:
๐ฆ Whatโs New?
From September 12, 2024, if you’re shipping more than 14 pallets in one truckload, youโll need to use special RFID seals that Amazon approves. These seals must meet specific standards (ISO-17712) and need to be put on the truck at your location before it leaves.
๐ Where to Get the Seals?
Heads Up, Amazon Sellers! New Seal Requirement for Truckloads Starting This Week!
The RFID seals can be bought only from:
-
A specific website.
-
Amazon (but only if you have a business account, and it might be expensive).
๐ What About Other Shipments?
For smaller shipments (less-than-truckload or small parcels), the seals are put on by the carrier, not by you. This happens at a terminal before the shipments get to Amazon.
๐ Why the Change?
The new RFID seals will make your shipments more secure and help Amazon track them better as they arrive at their fulfillment centers.
๐ What You Need to Do:
-
Seal Your Shipments: Use the RFID seals on your full truckload or intermodal trailers before they leave your place.
-
Record the Seal Number: Write down the seal number on the bill of lading (BOL), next to the Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) and Progressive Number (PRO#). This helps with tracking.
๐ Things to Remember:
-
Buying Seals: You can only get the RFID seals from a specific source, and you might need a special code to buy them.
-
Keep Records: You might need to show the seal number for reimbursement claims in the future, so keep track of it.
-
Check Seals: Make sure the seals are not broken. If they are, Amazon might not take responsibility for your shipment.
Get Ready Now!
Make sure you get the RFID seals and are ready for these new rules before they start. This will help keep your shipments secure and avoid any issues. ๐๐
